Gallery: Skanda Vale Hindu Voice UK, May - June 2007 Unknown to many, there is a beautiful 115 acre Hindu temple and monastery site in Wales, named Skanda Vale. It was founded in 1973, and serves as a home for hundreds of devotees, mainly not of Indian origin, as well as many creatures, including a temple elephant. Recently, Skanda Vale has become the centre of a controversy over the fate of one of these creatures – Shambo the bull.
