Interesting statistics on Hindus in the USA

Hindu Voice UK, April 2008

In a challenge to the stereotypical view of confused ABCDs ("American Born Confused Desis"), recent research portrays Hindus living in the USA as quite a cohesive and strongly rooted set of communities.

An extensive survey into religion in the USA, found that Hindus have the highest levels of postgraduate education (48 percent), are most likely to be married to a partner of the same faith (90 per cent), and are have the highest religious retention rate (84 percent) compared with any other religious community in the country. Hindus are also more likely than average to have earnings of over $100,000 (43 percent), second only to Jews (46 percent).

The research was carried out on behalf of the government by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life.
