:: NEWS :: Idi Amin's legacy continues...in London! Hindu Voice UK, August 2007
The son of former dictator and mass murderer Idi Amin was recently imprisoned in the UK for manslaughter, due to his participation in armed assault in the London Borough of Camden last year. The case, which received zero publicity until now due to a court order (now lifted) banning reporting on the case, will come as shocking news to the many thousands of Hindus who came to Britain due to Idi Amin’s forced exodus from Uganda. Faisal Wangita, one of Idi Amin’s many children was among a mob who beat Mahir Osman, 18, to death near Camden Tube station in 2006. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment at the Old Bailey for conspiracy to wound with intent and violent disorder, although he was cleared of the most serious charge of murder. 12 others were convicted of various offences ranging from assault to murder. Idi Amin had 40 officially-recorded children from multiple wives. Faisal Wangita was born in Uganda but has lived in England for several years, staying at a number of addresses in London. He had previous criminal convictions for possessing an offensive weapon, theft, fraud and threatening behaviour. See
